Employee Scholarship Program

The intent of the HCBS Scholarship program
- To help create meaningful career paths for employees serving in the field of long-term care, specifically those serving in HCBS programs
- To support the efforts of service providers to recruit, retain and train qualified employees
- To expand the long-term care workforce
Eligibility
- Applicants must work at least 20 hours per week for a PICS Managing Party.
- Funds must be applied to a training or course of study that is expected to lead to career advancement either with the provider, in the field of nursing, or in the field of long-term care (including home care or care of persons with disabilities). "Career Advancement" means that the education or training paid for by the program will directly result in a recognized certification, title, licensure or degree program, or an enhanced wage rate.
- Funds must be utilized solely for qualified educational expenses. These include: Tuition, books, fees and other required expenses that are directly related to a course of study leading to career advancement as described above.
- Management staff are not eligible for funds under this program unless their management position includes direct care duties.
