People who have a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Waiver can increase their self-direction by practicing Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) through PICS. If you are not familiar with CDCS, please read our brief What is CDCS page. You can also request a free DVD about CDCS, or watch it online.

Now more than ever, systems are in place to bring more self-determination and fulfillment into the lives of people affected by brain injury. CDCS is an important part of that movement - it allows people to control how their TBI Waiver dollars are spent. They can bring services to their home, hire family members and friends as caregivers, and make modifications to their living space. They decide how dollars are best spent to support them.

Through our own services, and through strong relationships with organizations like the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota, PICS is dedicated to catalyzing greater self-direction among people affected by brain injury.
